06.22.09 -Bicycle Technical Regulation Clarification for National Championships

Per release by the Union Cycliste International (UCI) in May of 2009, the interpretation of UCI bicycle regulations is being tightened as of July 1, 2009. The interpretation deals specifically with the ratio of length to width of parts of a bicycle, including the tubes and accessories, and is known as the 1:3 aspect ratio rule. The CCA would like to clarify that enforcement of this 1:3 aspect ratio for handlebars will begin following the conclusion of National Championships on July 5, 2009.
