This program is designed to support the developmental
needs of non-carded athletes that need that little extra
support to help them meet Sport Canada’s carding
criteria. The idea of the fund is to have the athlete
and coach spend the money on something that will equally
benefit their development i.e international competition,
sport science support, training camp, new training equipment
or sport education.
In his first year competing at the Para Road World
Championship, Robert became the Time Trial World Champion
of his category, in addition of bringing home silver
at the road race and a bronze at the Hand-Cycling Team
Relay. Both Robert and Pierre will receive a grant aimed
to provide additional training support and resources.
The CCA would like to seize the opportunity to thank
the Canadian Olympic Committee and Petro-Canada for
its initiatives towards the development of the para-cycling
team. For more information on the Petro-Canada FACE
Program, please consult the following website: http://iwilldreambig.ca/#/DevelopingOlympians.
