03.08.11 -Canadian Cycling Association Announces BMX team for Pietermaritzburg, RSA SX World cup

The Canadian Cycling Association announced the athletes for the 1st BMX SX World Cup in Pietermaritzburg, RSA. The event will be held at the same location as the 2010 World Championships on April 8th & 9th.This will be the 5th event counting towards the 2012 Olympic qualification process. Athlete will receive funding depending on the tier level they have qualified for. Athletes were selected from proven results and potential ability to be competitive at BMX SX events.

Tier 1:
Sam Cools, Airdrie AB
Tory Nyhaug, Coquitlam, BC

Tier 2:
Jim Brown, Airdrie AB
Connor McCormack, Kelowna BC

Athletes interested in joining the team on the project as a Tier 3 should contact Adam Muys at adam.muys@canadian-cycling.com before March 15th.
