06.21.11 - SCHEDULE FINALIZED FOR 2011 IMMUNITY-FX CANADIAN ROAD CHAMPIONSHIPS

Elite road races held Friday and Saturday evening; Time Trial race held on Thursday

(Greater Toronto Area, ON – June 21, 2011) The schedule has been finalized for the 2011 Immunity-FX Canadian Road Cycling Championships powered by Canaccord Wealth Management, and the best riders of this nation will go head to head on the evenings of Friday for the Elite women’s road race, and Saturday for the Elite men’s road race.

“It’s a great feeling to have see months of hard work coming to fruition,” said Craig Fagan, Race organizer of the event. “The people of the Greater Toronto Area will be treated with the best road cycling action that this country has to offer. We have some of the best of the best competing here in Ontario, a year before the 2012 Olympic Games.”

The 2011 Immunity-FX Canadian Road Championships powered by Canaccord Wealth Management will be complemented by a wide variety of festivities for the whole family, including a bike parade, a children’s race, Learn-to-Ride clinics, mechanics clinics, to name a few.

ABOUT THE 2011 IMMUNITY-FX CANADIAN ROAD CHAMPIONSHIPS

The 2011 IMMUNITY-FX Canadian Road Championships powered by Canaccord Wealth Management is Canada’s top domestic road cycling event. The event annually attracts some of the country’s best road cyclists challenging for the Red and White Jersey awarded to the Canadian Champions in the mass start road race, the individual time trial race as well as the Criterium. Organized by the Midweek Cycling Club in Burlington, Ontario, the event is governed by the Canadian Cycling Association (CCA), a member of the International Cycling Union (UCI). The event is made possible thanks to the close collaboration between the Canadian Cycling Association, the Ontario Cycling Association and Midweek Cycling Club. The 2011 IMMUNITY-FX Canadian Road Championships will be held from June 23 to July 3 in the regional municipalities of Halton, Peel and Toronto, and showcases racing in all categories: Junior, U23, Elite and Masters, as well as para-cycling.
