CYCLISTE BROMONT, A CRITICAL PIECE IN THE GROWTH OF
CYCLING
Centre celebrates 10 years of cycling excellence
(Bromont, QC – June 28, 2011) The Canadian Cycling
Association (CCA) is thrilled to announce the 10th anniversary
of the Centre National Cycliste Bromont located on Shefford
St. in Bromont, QC. From its modest beginnings in the
Bromont hockey arena to today—a multi-sport training
and competition centre, the CCA has always been one
of the principle partners of this cycling facility.
In recent years, the CCA has chosen, amongst the other
cycling centers in its Canada-wide network, the CNCB
to be the tasked with contributing to the service provision
around its high performance Para-cycling program.
This partnership between the CNCB and the Canadian
Para-cycling program has already reaped some performance
outcomes on the national and international stage.
Having recently acquired Guy Lépine as director
of the CNCB, there is great reasons to believe the partnerships
will be enhanced in terms of high performance, as well
as an increased emphasis on talent Identification and
cycling development programs that will impact the Olympic
sports of BMX, Track, Road and Mountain bike.
“The CNCB was one of the first cycling centers
identified by the CCA in the nineties, and it has been
great to see the evolution of the CNCB in the last decade.
Having Guy Lépine newly appointed at the helm
of the CNCB will no doubt ensure the growth of the CNCB
and by extension the growth of the CCA at the domestic
and international level,” says Jacques Landry,
director of high performance at the Canadian Cycling
Association.
