05.26.06 - Canadians Win in International BMX Event. May 26, 2006 (Ottawa ON) - Canadian athletes scored four victories in international BMX competition in Prunedale, California, last weekend. Samantha Cools (Airdrie AB) scored back-to-back wins in the elite women's category on May 19 and 20, while Christine Miller (Airdrie AB) won the junior women's event on Saturday and Kayla Sweeney (Calgary AB) led a Canadian junior women's 1-2-3 on Sunday, ahead of Layne Nyhaug (Coquitlam BC) and Miller. In the junior men's category, Nick Goertzen (Langley BC) finished third on Sunday. The next North American international BMX competition will be held in Airdire, AB, on June 24.
