July 30, 2006 – Mount Whashington, BC – The best Canadian downhill riders challenged Mt. Washington’s slippery course today at the final stage of the 2006 Canada Cup, where Adrienne Miller (Courtenay, BC) and Geoff Pendrel (Victoria, BC) performed the best time in the Elite category. Miller was also crowned Women Elite’s 2006 Canada Cup Champion, as was Luke Kitzanuk (Vancouver, BC) in the Elite Men.

Just staying in the downhill course was a great challenge today as the course was very muddy and slippery, for it has been raining last night and this morning.

Versatile mountain biker Rodi Lega (28, Victoria, BC) raced in both cross-country and downhill elite events this weekend and he placed 13th in the downhill.
