August 18/06 Representatives of the Canadian Cycling Association and Danika Schroeter met yesterday as part of the Sport Dispute Resolution Centre of Canada’s resolution facilitation process to arrive at a settlement of disciplinary action taken against Ms. Schroeter by the CCA.

August 15/06 (Ottawa ON) – The Canadian Cycling Association (CCA), the national governing body for cycling in Canada, announced today that Steve Lacelle, its Chief Operating Officer, will take up new challenges at the end of the month to pursue a career in banking operations.

August 14/06 (Bromont, Québec) - 2006 UCI Masters MTB Worlds Sun Peaks, BC - For the second consecutive year, the promoters of this event chose the fabulous Sun Peaks Resort in the great Canadian Rockies. The competition will be held all Labour Day weekend, on September 2-3, in the small village near Kamloops, British Colombia. The UCI World Masters Mountain Bike Championships features more than 250 athletes, 30 years old and over, that battle for the world champion title.

August 13/06 (Spa Francorchamps, Belgium) UCI Junior Road World Championships - Karol-Ann Canuel (Amos, QC) took the 5th position in the women’s 68 K road race event today, with a time of 2:01:16.

August 13/06 (Québec, QC) – Montréal-Québec Road Classic Louis Garneau - Canadian National Team rider Ryan Roth (ON) won North America’s longest road race, the 252 K Montreal-Québec Louis Garneau Classic today. US Hugh Moran took the second position, followed by Canada’s Erik Lyman (Gatineau, QC) in third.

August 10/06 (Spa Francorchamps, Belgium) UCI Junior Road World Championships - Day 1 - Julie Beveridge (AB) placed 20th in the time trial event of the Junior Worlds today, while Mark Hinnen (ON) finished 47th and first Canadian.

August 08/06 (Gent, Belgium) - UCI Junior Track World Championships - Day 3 & 4 (final): Monique Sullivan (Calgary, AB) takes the 9th place today in the Keirin competition. Lawrence Leroux (Oka, QC) set a personal best in the men's sprint.

August 06/06 (Gent, Belgium) - UCI Junior Track World Championships - Eric Smith (AB) set a new Canadian record in the Junior Track Worlds 3000m pursuit event today, while Monique Sullivan (both from Calgary, AB) takes the 11th in the 500m time trial Saturday and the 9th place in the 200m time trial today.

August 05/06 (Gent, Belgium) - The Junior Track Worlds opened in Belgium today with Canada’s Eric Smith (AB) missing the top-12 by two spots only to go to the points race finals (he ranked 14th), while eyes are now focused on Monique Sullivan (AB) who will take part in the women’s time trial 500m event later today.
