Games… races in tandem with 25-year-old pilot Devon
Smibert…They are ranked second in the world…trained
in Australia in the month of August to simulate time zone…
Cowie is a two time world championship silver medallist
in the triathlon for athletes with a disability…named
Triathlon Canada’s athlete of the year in the disabled
category… started to lose his sight at age 22 due
to a degenerative problem… started tandem cycling
in 1994… raced his last Ironman triathlon in 1996…
cross country skiing in the winter in a bid to land a
spot on the 2010 Winter Paralympic Games team…married
26 years to wife Marlene… they have two sons.
