in the winter of 2006/2007 causing her to miss
the 2007 spring racing season…known as a
talented climber, she spent two years working
for Canadian star Genevieve Jeanson on the Rona
squad…coached by Houshang Amiri since 2001…trains
in Victoria, British Columbia...formerly coached
by Steve Lund (1997-2000)…previous clubs
include Team Rona and Webcor Cycling Team…was
introduced to the sport by her father and was
a member of the Victoria High School Cycling League
from age 14...started out track cycling, mountain
biking and on the road for the first four years,
then stayed with road when she turned senior as
her strengths were mountain stages and ever-changing
tactics…received the 2007 Pacific Sport
George Heller Award for Athletic Excellence…
Born and resides in Victoria, where she graduated
from Stelly’s Secondary School…studying
education at the University of Victoria…married
in 2006 to Tony Zarsadias, a former professional
cyclist (member of Team Symmetrics) and psychology
graduate of Simon Fraser University, and now working
as a real estate agent in Victoria…mother
Lynne is a teacher…father Martin, a cyclist,
competed in the team time trial at the 1984 Olympic
Games in Los Angeles, USA (her uncle Bernie won
a bronze medal in the team time trial at the 1979
Pan American Games, and was the 1980 Canadian
road race champion)…has two sisters…enjoys
a good glass of wine and spending time with family
and friends…favourites include popcorn,
ice cream and fruit, gymnastics and diving, fast
moving movies, and says she likes the people in
her life, and only wants to see more of them!
